Frequently Asked Questions about Apache ActiveMQ®

Quick answers to the questions our clients ask most often.

Does meshIQ support Apache Artemis™ as a JBoss / Red Hat AMQ embedded broker?

Yes. meshIQ supports standalone Apache Artemis™ deployments as well as Apache Artemis™ embedded as the broker engine in Red Hat AMQ 7.x and JBoss EAP. Our engineers have experience with the Red Hat distribution’s specific configuration overlays and can work alongside your Red Hat support contract where applicable.

Can you support on-premise and cloud deployments?

Yes. meshIQ supports Apache ActiveMQ® deployments across all environments — bare metal, VMware, AWS EC2/EKS, Azure VM/AKS, GCP, and hybrid configurations. Our monitoring is agentless where required, and remote access is handled securely via your preferred method (bastion host, VPN, read-only credentials). We do not require persistent agent installation.

Do you support Apache ActiveMQ® on Kubernetes?

Yes, for Professional and Enterprise customers. meshIQ supports Helm chart-based Apache ActiveMQ® and Apache Artemis™ deployments on Kubernetes 1.24+, including persistent volume configuration, Stateful Set management, liveness/readiness probe tuning, and operator-managed deployments. We also advise on storage class selection and network policy configuration for production Kubernetes clusters.

What is your escalation process for complex issues?

All escalations go through your named Technical Account Manager. For issues requiring upstream knowledge, Professional and Enterprise customers have direct access to meshIQ’s Apache contributor roster — the same engineers who maintain the Apache ActiveMQ® codebase. If an issue requires a code-level fix in Apache ActiveMQ® itself, our team can author, test, and backport patches as part of the support engagement.

Does meshIQ offer 24/7 ActiveMQ® support?

Yes. All meshIQ enterprise support plans include 24/7/365 coverage with SLA-guaranteed response times. Critical (P1) incidents are acknowledged within 1 hour and assigned to a named engineer immediately. Enterprise and Premium plans include a dedicated Technical Account Manager and access to our on-call Apache contributor roster for the most complex issues.
