Many enterprises are adopting OpenShift in their journey to building and running containerized workloads in on-premise, cloud-based or hybrid environments. These initiatives leverage multiple application integration technologies, such as IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, or Tibco EMS.
Nastel Technologies announced today that it has been awarded Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) Select Tier partner status. Using AWS, Nastel is able to accelerate its efforts to help customers take advantage of innovative cloud technology.
The initial polling of IBM MQ customers reveals some interesting trends as we enter 2021.
Poll #1: When asked which one area they were looking to learn more about in 2021, the top response was “Tools for Cloud Migration of Messaging Middleware.” It is important to note that all the respondents have IBM MQ messaging middleware in their estate, most also have Kafka, and many also have IIB (IBM Integration Bus), IBM ACE (App Connect Enterprise), and/or TIBCO EMS are part of their IT stack.
Business agility is critical. It’s shocking and saddening to see the number of large household names that we grew up with going into administration. Companies that have always been there and we thought always would stand the test of time.
Almost exactly 19 years ago IBM acquired CrossWorlds Software to add to their WebSphere business-integration middleware business. CrossWorlds was famous (or infamous) back then mainly because of its founder and approach to advertising, publicity and PR (public relations).
Who has actually made the move off of the mainframe?
The answer is almost no one, we still all have them sitting in the basement doing what they have always done.
Messaging Middleware - Large enterprises generally expend about ¼ of their entire IT budget on the systems and processes to connect the disparate systems that make up complex application stacks.
When you look at how business processes are architected, they nearly always make use of a myriad of different infrastructure elements, platforms and applications, and these are all interconnected using an array of messaging middleware systems that ensure that every single request is processed even when the capacity and performance of some components causes requests to be stacked in queues.
Application Performance - Much of the costs associated with implementing a new app or upgrading an existing app are operational. For most companies at least a quarter of their entire IT budget is aligned to integration and configuration management.
