We live in a cloud-connected world

We live in a cloud connected world

Your strategy is to move everything to software configured and cloud-connected existence. I can say this with absolute confidence because quite frankly this is everyone’s strategy in 2021.

With cloud thinking, every decision becomes an operational choice without the historical lags previously associated with massive capital changes. With cloud thinking, every team can spin up a new test environment and try out their ideas without needing to implement infrastructure, platforms, and applications, instead they go to an app store, learn what is available, spend a couple of hours reading and watching videos and they configure their ideas into a process to try.

Now what you draw on the whiteboard can become a reality in record time, and you can take an idea to production in small incremental agile steps, and then, when you are ready to scale up, everything is in place, just put your foot on the accelerator and you are off.

This does mean your integration costs have become a larger proportion of your overall budget, as you expend effort to move existing systems to cloud environments and connect existing and new components together. You need to expend effort to connect components together and connect new ideas to existing systems, this is integration. This is to be expected. It would be even better if these integration-focused costs could be exploited in additional ways – that would really be “the icing on the cake”.

The time and effort spent connecting things together, either by coding APIs or using messaging middleware applications such as MQ or Kafka, has historically been seen in the same way that plumbers consider pipes. It is time-consuming to connect things together, but wouldn’t it be amazing if this effort could then be used in additional ways, so that the cost is not just a cost, but establishing a layer of knowledge that can be reused.

They can be! We think of all these interconnections as a nervous system (as opposed to plumbing) and just like the body’s nervous system, these connections can be used to control and also to provide feedback.

That is where we come in, we provide you with the technology to automatically understand your integration investment in meaningful ways and use this to visualize your entire business as your users experience it. This solves issues that would have previously demanded massive investment in people, processes, and products. Instead of recreating a complex formulaic understanding of how performance impacts experience, use the middleware knowledge you have already codified to show you and then overlay the available performance data on this model. Management, Governance, Compliance, Security, Performance, Availability (and more) all become easier to handle, faster to solve, and more cost-effective.

We see this as the following:

  1. You move to the cloud.
  2. You implement Nastel to exploit your new advantage.

You are not alone; this is exactly what leaders across every type of enterprise have already done.

Let us show you how they did it for them, and how we can help you.
